An Open Hand

I decided to post this card as inspiration to keep me moving in this journey to de-clutter.

This is a card that my sister made by hand and sent to me when she was traveling through Ireland. In it, she mentions the freedom that comes from freeing yourself from personal belongings.

This might seem counter-to-my-mission but I'm going to keep this card. Hopefully it will inspire me to clear enough space so that beautiful things like this can stand out and be displayed, rather than just being stumbled-upon randomly when going through boxes.

Pixies

This CD was 4 years old when it moved to California. It lived in Sacramento until it was 9 and then it moved to Mendocino county. At age 13 it was forced to move to Palm Bay, FL. After jumping around between Viera, Merritt Island and Eau Gallie over a period of 6 years, it has come to Gator Nation, as any good 19-year-old should. I believe it is time to set it free, as any good mother would. (Plus its been scratched beyond repair for years. I'm a lil' sentimental).

Opening Closet Doors

I hold on to too much. It clutters my mind. It clutters my house. It doesn't leave room for new possibilities.

When I lived in California, I had a good friend who decided to move back home to Canada and when she did she either sold or gave away everything she owned. Everything, even musical instruments. I was so shocked that I've never forgotten it -- though I've never been able to emulate it -- but it always inspires me to try (or to think about trying).

That's what I'll be doing here. Trying to clear skeletons.
